Vancouver Island University’s (VIU’s) Theatre Department presents the hysterical dramatic comedy She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen as this year’s spring production.

The play tells the story of Agnes Evans as she comes to terms with the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she embarks on an adventure into the imaginary world that was Tilly’s refuge. The play is laden with homicidal fairies, nasty demons and ’90s pop culture.

“Qui Nguyen’s work in this play touches on so many topics in the most beautiful way, all while giving everyone the greatest laugh all the way through,” said Leon Potter, Director and Set Designer for the production. “This is truly one to see.”

She Kills Monsters runs March 2, 3 and 4 and March 8, 9, 10 and 11 at 7:30 pm at VIU’s Malaspina Theatre (Building 310) at the Nanaimo campus. There is a matinee on March 9 at 10 am. Tickets are $10 and are available on Eventbrite.
