Vancouver Island University’s Cowichan campus is closing as of 12:30 pm today (Saturday, February 1, 2020) for the rest of the day and evening due to the local state of emergency declared by the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Roads throughout the mid-Island have flooded and closed.
All classes and examinations are cancelled, and services are suspended. All employees and students are asked not to travel to the Cowichan campus today.
The next update will be on Sunday, February 2 at 6:30 pm for classes on Monday, February 3. Please do not start to travel to VIU’s Cowichan campus until you receive this update. The first announcement will be sent out via VIU’s Safety App. After that information will be posted to:
