Virtual Field Trip: Travelling Seeds

From Douglas-firs to apples, trees need space, nutrients and water to grow, and this means tree seeds need to spread out to avoid crowding. But how does a tree seed travel? Join Pam to explore the hows and whys of travelling seeds in this video.

This video supports the following Big Ideas in the BC Science Curriculum:

  • K/1 - Living things have observable features that help them survive in their environment
  • 2 - Living things have life cycles adapted to their environment
  • 3 - Living things are diverse, can be grouped, and interact in their environment
  • 4 - All living things sense and respond to their environment
  • 6 - Multicellular organisms rely on internal systems to survive, reproduce, and interact with their environment
