Thank you for your patience while VIU’s Information Technology Services (ITS) completed the network remediation planned for this outage. Our technicians, vendors and many others from the VIU community have worked through the weekend to complete this portion of the Network Remediation Project.
All VIU technology systems are back online and functioning.
VIU technicians are continuing to monitor the network and the health of our IT systems. Please check the VIU IT status page for updates if any major challenges arise.
If you notice any challenges this week that you feel may be related to the network changes this weekend please email ithelp@viu.ca. When sending in your email we ask that you put NRP0119 in the subject line, as this will assist the Helpdesk in assigning the tickets generated by your emails.
ITS would like to take this time to thank everyone in our VIU community for their support and understanding during this project. The positive support we have received has been nothing short of fantastic, and we are ever grateful for it.
This Network Remediation Project (NRP) will bring significant improvements to VIU’s technology infrastructure, from which all students and employees will benefit. VIU recently received the funding for this project, which must be used by March 31, 2019. Additional planned outages will occur throughout February and early March. These may have shorter durations, and/or may be limited to one area or building at a time. All outages must be complete by the beginning of March to allow time to complete this project.
