Asian Heritage Month resources

May is Asian Heritage Month in Canada. Asian Heritage Month is an opportunity to learn more about the many achievements and contributions Canadians of Asian heritage have made to the growth and prosperity of Canada, as well as the challenges they have experienced. It is also a reminder for all Canadians to come together to combat anti-Asian racism and discrimination in all its forms. Read this message from VIU President and Vice-Chancellor Dr. Deborah Saucier.

The theme for Asian Heritage Month 2023 is “Stories of Determination.” This “represents the strides made and the challenges overcome by Asian communities to thrive in Canada over the last two centuries and beyond. The history of the communities here in our country is filled with hardships and setbacks, but ultimately, it is a story of triumph over adversity.” - Statement by Minister Hussen.
