For seven years, a bespectacled boy wizard with a scar went to a certain wizard school and conquered evil. But this isn’t his story. This is the story of the puffs who happen to be at the school too.

Vancouver Island University’s (VIU’s) Theatre Department presents the comedy PUFFS, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic as this year’s spring play. PUFFS is the story of Wayne Hopkins and his two best friends. The three young students are trying to make it through their dangerous magic school and avoid attacks by evil wizards.

“This is a hysterical satire of a beautiful magical world that is close to all our hearts. A school of magic and magic through seven eventful years as seen in the eyes of a group of students who were not saving the world or vanquishing evil,” said Leon Potter, Director and a VIU Theatre Department Professor. “This is a story for all of us who might see the grass as greener everywhere else, but with a bit of perspective, might realize that we all have a little special something inside of each and every one of us.”

PUFFS runs at VIU’s Malaspina Theatre (Building 310) from March 7 to 16 at 7:30 pm. The opening gala is on March 7 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $11.30 and are available on Showpass
